Administrative Assistant at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering
20%-40%, Zurich, fixed-term
Prof. Dr. Maria Lukatskaya has been leading the Electrochemical Energy Systems Laboratory since 2020. The laboratory focuses on designing electrochemical processes by engineering electrolytes and interfaces for fast, stable energy storage. Our research explores molecular interactions and charge transfer using advanced spectroscopy. This guides the development of better batteries and supercapacitors.
We are looking for a proactive, solution-oriented, and reliable administrative assistant to support the professor in all administrative and organizational matters, ensuring the group's excellence in research and teaching.
The workload is 20-40% and the position is initially fix-termed until November 2027, with the option of extension.
Job description
You will be responsible for independently managing the administrative area of our laboratory within the Department D-MAVT. Together with the overarching ETH units, you will support them and their staff in all administrative and organizational matters.
The tasks include, among others:
- Financial planning and oversight, management of research funds, and financial reporting
- Ordering for the lab (ASANA)
- Handling personnel administration and supporting scientific staff as well as scientific guests
- Organizing meetings, seminars, conferences, and business trips
- Performing general secretarial tasks, including correspondence in German and English, and maintaining the website
Profile
- You have several years of experience in a demanding and dynamic administrative environment
- You demonstrate initiative, organizational talent, and an affinity for numbers
- You have experience in independently managing an area of work
- You show teamwork and enjoy collaborating with people from different cultures
- You are precise and forward-thinking in your work
- You are committed to fostering a strong sense of community and a pleasant working atmosphere
- In addition to fluent German, you have excellent written and spoken English skills
- You have solid knowledge of modern communication tools and MS Office
