Proteomic Data Analyst for Personalized Health Data Analysis Hub

80%-100%, Zurich, fixed-term

The Swiss Data Science Center (SDSC) is a joint venture between EPFL and ETH Zurich. Its mission is to accelerate the adoption of data science and machine learning techniques within the ETH Domain academic disciplines, the Swiss academic community at large, and the industrial sector. In particular, it addresses the gap between those who create data, those who develop data analytics and systems, and those who could potentially extract value from it. The centre comprises a multi-disciplinary team of data and computer scientists, and experts in select domains with offices in Zürich, Lausanne, and Villigen.

Personalized Health and Related Technologies (PHRT) is a strategic focus area of the ETH Domain; the latter embracing the six key research institutions ETHZ, EPFL, PSI, Empa, Eawag and WSL. PHRT’s goals include improving the quality of Personalized Health and Precision Medicine by providing a choice of individual diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for patients. It offers technological know-how, expertise and capacity from the ETH Domain institutions to medical and clinical partners by supporting collaborative interdisciplinary inter-institutional research projects.

As joint venture, PHRT and SDSC are launching the Personalized Health Data Analysis Hub to support data analysis for multi-omic platforms.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Personalized Health Data Analysis Hub and the Clinical Proteotype Analysis Center (CPAC) in Zürich.

You will make an impact on the healthcare industry by delivering reliable value-enhancing services for proteomic and multi-omic data analysis.

Project background

This role sits in the Personalized Health Data Analysis Hub (“the Hub”) launched in the framework of the PHRT program to support and develop the data analytical capacities of the -omics platforms part of the Swiss Multi-omic Center (SMOC). The specialists of this Hub will add value to the results provided by the centres, integrate these data with clinical data as well as imaging data, and make the results easily transferable to the end users, notably the clinicians. The Hub is a joint initiative of PHRT and SDSC and will be associated with SDSC beyond 2025. Together with SMOC and the future Personalized Medicine Imaging Hub, the Hub will constitute a network of ETH Domain competence centres leading precision medicine and health in Switzerland.
