Postdoctoral Researcher – Digital Economics/Public Economics
The Chair of Public Economics at D-MTEC invites applications for a postdoc position. The expected starting date is spring 2021 or later.
The successful applicant will work on issues related to the regulation of digital platforms and taxation of their activities. Potential topics include:
- Taxation of digital products, two-sided markets, and network goods
- Net neutrality
- Privacy and public policy
- Value creation and taxation of corporate profits in the digital economy
- The effect of the digital economy on tax competition
- Artificial intelligence and fiscal systems
The work is based on theoretical modelling and/or empirical analysis.

Applicants should have recently earned a Ph.D. in Economics (or should be near completion of the dissertation). The preferred candidate has demonstrated her or his potential to conduct high-quality research, ideally by having some papers under revision or even accepted for publication in refereed international journals.
The successful applicant is expected to independently conduct academic and policy-relevant research and also to contribute to ongoing research projects of the group. Excellent command of English is required.
